3 weeks ago my life changed forever.
My brother-in-law sent a podcast episode he recommended.
I got busy and forgot about it.
Then my mom sent the same one.
She felt so strongly about the importance of hearing this podcast, she offered to pay my brothers and I (and our wives) if weād listen to the full 2 Ā½ hour episode and share what weād learned.
So we did š
And boy oh boyā¦ I had no idea what I was in for.
Not a day has gone by since then that I havenāt talked to my wife about what we learned.
I can honestly say it was the most consequential podcast I have ever listened to in my life. It left me shocked, disturbed, inspired, and more motivated than EVER before to take care of my body.
After all, my body is a gift from God. And I only get one.
Just to tease out a few things shared in the podcastā¦
Did you knowā¦?:
Humans consume up to 3,000% more sugar than our great grandparents 100 years ago.
We sleep on average 24% less than they did.
And weāre exposed to 80,000 synthetic chemicals in our food, water, and air. (most of which didnāt even exist 100 years ago.)
Which all might account (at least in part) for the countless chronic illnesses that are becoming more and more prevalent every year.
In fact:
Over 50% of Americans have at least 1 chronic condition.
33% of young adults have pre-diabetes
Chronic disease medication didnāt even exist before the 1960s
But now, 95% of all medical costs in America go towards reversible chronic conditions
And a whopping 9 of the 10 leading causes of death in the United States right now are rooted in metabolic dysfunction (broken metabolism)
Which is wild, cause that means the vast majority of death and disease humans are experiencing right now is literally curable and reversible byā¦. good food and exercise?
Yup - good food and exercise.
āBut Kody, if that were trueā¦ why donāt doctors simply prescribe a healthy diet and exercise instead of medications, surgeries, and expensive treatments?
To which Iād ask you, how do doctors get paid?
If you guessed āby writing prescriptions, and performing surgeriesā youād be a winner.
Doctors make exactly $0 by telling you to eat healthy and move your body.
To be clear - Iām not saying doctors are bad. Most doctors are amazing people with good intentions.
But the US health care system is structured in such a way to compensate them for medicating you.
Even if that isnāt actually the best way to heal you in your specific case.
Everything Iāve just shared isnāt even 1% of the mind blowing, earth-shattering information from this podcast.
Like did you know that the Food and Drug Administration (a US government agency that sets safety standards for food and drugs) receives 75% of itās funding from Big Pharma companies?
Or that 2 of the biggest donors to the American Diabetes Association are Coca-cola and Cadbury (the chocolate company)? Like, what???
Or that many of todayās Big Food companies originated from 2 of the big cigaret companies from the 90s? They literally just took their scientists who were great at making cigarets addictive, and revised their job descriptions to focus on making food addictive.
At the end of the day, it just makes you all wonderā¦ if Americans are spending more and more every year on healthcare, why are we getting sicker?
For sources and context of everything Iāve shared today, as well as a full 2+ hours of life-altering material, please dedicate the time and listen to the full podcast:
Note: No matter what your opinion might be about Tucker Carlson as a person or his political ideology, this is absolutely worth the listen. Heck, even if you skip through his comments, what Calley and Casey share will undoubtably impact your life in one way or another.
Try it
This all can be super overwhelmingā¦ so what do you even do?
Since listening to the podcast, my wife has mentioned how she has the urge to go extreme and completely change everything about the foods we eat and the products we buy.
On the other hand, hearing all this can also leave you defeated, thinking āthereās so much to change, why even try at all?ā
Iād recommend neither approach.
Instead, identify 1 or 2 specific things to adjust.
One thing my wife and I are doing more the last couple weeks is simply reading the ingredients list on everything we eat, and even products we use like shampoos and deodorants. The first step to change is awareness.
Whatās one thing you might adjust moving forward?
