Everybody knows you shouldn’t talk bad behind people’s backs.
Gossip.
Rumors.
Hurtful truths.
It’s all lame.
But honestly, you shouldn’t talk good behind people’s backs either.
An hour ago, I got a voice note from a coworker.
She said “Hey, we were talking about you yesterday in a meeting”.
Definitely not what you typically want to hear at work 😂
Then she said, “We were all just sharing how grateful we are for you, for the work you do, how dedicated you are, we just appreciate you so much”.
phew! bullet dodged ✅
She continued:
“And honestly, I should have told you all the face-to-face when we talked this morning.
I don’t want to be the kind of person that only says good things about someone behind their back. So thank you!”
First of all, aw!
Totally warmed my heart.
Second of all, sheesh!
It got me thinking:
Who else in my life have I spoken kind words about them, instead of to them?
So my challenge for you is this:
Call, text, or go knock on on someone’s door. Tell them to their face how grateful you are for them.
Then come hit reply and tell me how it went 🙂 I’d genuinely love to hear your story!
