📆 The Tiny Habit That Controls My Entire Week

the start of all chain reactions hinges on this one decision

Sponsored by Zac Garside

Have you ever seen a comedian do "crowd work?" It's where they improvise the entire set with the audience. It's kind of crazy.

Well my friend Zac is taking the idea of "crowd work" and applying it to his email marketing agency.

This Wednesday (March 12) at 11 am MST / 1 pm EST, Zac is hosting a live call for Business Owners and Marketers where he's going to grab businesses in the "crowd" and craft hard-hitting email campaigns for them LIVE, FROM SCRATCH

I personally can't wait to see it and learn his system for email marketing.

Ever feel like your week is either flowing effortlessly or falling apart—with no in-between?

That’s exactly how it is for me.

Some weeks, I wake up Monday morning feeling behind.
❌ I sleep in.
❌ Skip my workout.
❌ Start work groggy and distracted.
❌ Fall behind and have to work late.
❌ Miss quality time with my family.
❌ Stay up late to catch up… and the cycle repeats.

Other weeks, it’s completely different.
âś… I wake up early, energized.
âś… Exercise and start the day strong.
âś… Get more done by noon than I usually do in a full day.
âś… Wrap up work on time.
âś… Have a great evening with my family.
âś… Go to bed on time, ready to repeat the cycle.

What’s the difference between these two paths?

It all comes down to one simple decision on Sunday night.

Will I go to sleep early, or will I stay up late?

If I stay up late, the dominos fall in the wrong direction.
If I go to bed early, everything aligns.

And research backs this up. A study published in the Journal of Organizational Behavior found that better weekend sleep leads to lower levels of workweek exhaustion, allowing people to re-engage with their work more effectively on Monday.

Colin Powell once said:
"If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception; it is a prevailing attitude."

Sunday night might seem small, but it’s a habit that sets the tone for everything else. Excellence in the big things—family, work, health—starts with small, intentional decisions like this.

So here’s my challenge for you: Get to bed early this Sunday. Just once. See if it changes everything.

I bet it will.

What do you do on Sundays that helps you get ready for the week ahead? Hit reply and let me know!
