And for goodness sake, is it possible without posting on TikTok 12x/day?

Last week I got an email from my buddy Zac.

I’ve been subscribed to his newsletter for a while now.

But for the first time, his “P.S” line caught my attention:

Zac Garside’s P.S. Line

He straight up says:

“If you’re reading this while in a meeting or while spending time with someone, please put it away and read it later.”

“The people you’re with are more important than anything in this email.”

Such a simple statement, yet so impactful!

Which gave me 3 thoughts:

  1. We need more Zac’s in the world.

  2. What if we treated our friends the same when we text or call them?
AKA, when people don’t immediately return our calls or text back, why not assume they’re just being present with those they’re with?

  3. Last, I echo the same sentiment. Of course I love knowing you take the time to read my newsletter. But please, don’t do it sitting next to your kid, your spouse, or your friend. Put it down and be with them!

#2 is tough for me. Sometimes I get super impatient when I’m trying to get ahold of someone or awaiting a response with important information.

One thought comes to mind that I’ve shared before but applies here too.

Whether you’re struggling to resist using your phone around loved ones, or struggling being patient with people getting back to you, ask yourself:

“Will this matter 1 year from now?”

If the answer is yes, by all means take care of it!

Most the time though (at least I find for myself) it’s just not. Few things really are that important.

So, what thoughts come up for you after reading this?
